Built for Professional Fuel Distribution
Reliable fuel supply becomes critical when equipment operates far away from conventional filling stations.
The Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2136 A combines permanent four-wheel drive with a purpose-built 12,000-litre fuel tanker system developed for professional fuel transport and distribution.
The tanker is divided into two independent 6,000-litre compartments, providing a practical solution for organised fuel management during daily operations. Internal anti-surge baffles help control liquid movement during transport, while the heavy-duty steel tank construction provides the durability required for intensive commercial use.
This configuration allows fuel to be transported directly to machinery, generators, construction equipment and project vehicles operating in remote locations.
12,000-Litre Heavy-Duty Fuel Tanker
Fuel distribution requires more than simply carrying fuel from one location to another.
The tanker body is manufactured from heavy-duty mild steel with a 5 mm tank shell and reinforced 6 mm dished front and rear sections. Internal lateral and longitudinal anti-surge baffles increase stability by controlling fuel movement while the truck is travelling across uneven terrain.
Both 6,000-litre compartments include dedicated filling and monitoring equipment. Flame-proof ventilation, spill protection around the upper access points and protective tank-top construction contribute to safe and practical daily operation.
The complete tanker is installed on a dedicated subframe using heavy-duty saddle supports and elastic mounting connections designed around the truck chassis.
Hydraulic Pump, Metering System & Hose Equipment
Efficient refuelling depends on controlled fuel delivery.
The tanker is equipped with a hydraulically driven fuel pump providing an approximate delivery capacity of 400–500 litres per minute at 5–6 bar. Hydraulic power is supplied through the factory-installed Mercedes-Benz PTO, creating an integrated driveline solution for the tanker system. The hydraulic installation includes the necessary pump, controls, return filtration, oil cooling and associated components.
Fuel can be discharged through the pressurised pump system or by gravity, depending on operational requirements. An integrated flow-metering system allows operators to monitor fuel delivery, while the manual hose reel provides approximately 30 metres of 1-inch hose with filling nozzle for direct refuelling.
Permanent 4x4 Grounder Configuration
Fuel is often required exactly where conventional road vehicles reach their limits.
The Arocs 2136 A uses a permanent 4x4 drivetrain with a Mercedes-Benz VG 2800 transfer case, front differential lock and heavy-duty planetary rear axle. The final vehicle configuration combines reinforced axle capacity with an adapted tyre specification to provide additional weight capacity during demanding off-road operations.
Together with the Grounder specification, robust steel suspension and increased ground clearance, this creates a chassis developed for mining roads, construction sites, industrial locations and remote infrastructure projects. The Mercedes-Benz G 260-16 manual transmission provides direct control over power delivery, while the 360 HP OM460 engine delivers 1,800 Nm of torque for dependable operation under continuous load.
Designed for Hot & Dusty Environments
Remote fuel distribution often takes place under difficult environmental conditions.
This Mercedes-Benz Arocs is factory-equipped with a cooling package developed for very hot regions, an elevated air intake behind the cab, cyclone filtration for coarse dust, construction-site air filtration and an additional chassis-mounted fuel pre-filter. These systems help protect critical engine and fuel components when operating in environments where heat, dust and contaminated fuel can directly affect vehicle reliability. Steel bumper corners, protective equipment and reinforced construction components further support operation in demanding project environments.

- Mining & Quarry Operations
- Construction & Infrastructure Projects
- Oil, Gas & Energy Operations
