Schaften trucks
Looking for a truck that does exactly what your operation demands? At Schaften Automotive you do not just buy a vehicle. You gain a sparring partner. Tell us where the truck will work, what it needs to carry and under which conditions, and we translate that into the right chassis, the right body and the right paperwork. From the first conversation to delivery at your port of choice. One point of contact, one clear quotation, no surprises along the way.
Why customers work with Schaften Automotive
-
Custom body build
We work with a network of specialised bodybuilders. Tipper bodies, tanks, cranes, boxes and full mission equipment are engineered, mounted and inspected before the vehicle leaves the Netherlands.
-
Documentation
CoC, CMR, export plates, invoices and technical files, all prepared correctly the first time. Incomplete paperwork is the number one cause of delays at destination. We make sure it will not be yours.
-
Customs clearance
Our team handles export declarations, HS classification and destination requirements. You receive one file containing everything your agent or local authority is going to ask for.
-
Worldwide shipping
RoRo, container or breakbulk to Africa, the Middle East, Asia and South America. We book, load, insure and track, and we keep you updated until the truck is on the ground.
-
Custom truck body solutions
Standard rarely fits. A tipper for a Nigerian quarry is a different truck from a tipper for a Chilean mine, and your body should reflect that. Together we look at payload, terrain, climate, driver safety and local legislation, then translate all of it into a build specification.
We coordinate the bodybuilder, the mounting, the inspection and the export documentation, so you receive one complete, road ready vehicle instead of a project to manage. Curious what is possible for your operation? Let us talk it through, without obligation.
Choosing the right Mercedes-Benz truck model
As an official Mercedes-Benz Trucks partner, we supply the full range. Each model line has a clear purpose, and choosing well upfront saves you fuel, downtime and frustration later. Here is how they compare.
Not sure which line fits your application? That is exactly the conversation we like to have. Share your route, load and climate, and we will come back with a substantiated recommendation, including what it will cost you delivered.
The flagship for road transport. Comfortable cab, efficient driveline and strong fuel economy over long distances. Available as tractor unit or rigid, in numerous axle configurations. The obvious choice for international logistics, tanker work and high mileage fleets.
Reinforced frame, high ground clearance and drivelines built for load rather than speed. The Arocs is the standard answer for tippers, mixers, crane trucks and anything that leaves the asphalt. Available up to 8x8 with heavy duty axles.
Compact, manoeuvrable and economical in the 7.5 to 16 tonne range. Ideal for urban distribution, service bodies, refrigerated transport and municipal work where a heavy chassis would be overkill.
Low entry cab with panoramic visibility, developed for refuse collection, airport service and dense urban environments where the driver gets in and out dozens of times per shift.
For the moment the road ends. Bonneted, all wheel drive platforms for mining, forestry, firefighting, drilling support and humanitarian missions in remote regions.
Choosing the right configuration
-
Axle configuration
4x2 for road based distribution and tractor work. 6x4 for heavy haulage and tipper applications. 8x4 when payload and axle load legislation demand a fourth axle. We check the legal limits at your destination before we quote.
-
Emission standard
Euro 3 up to Euro 6, depending on fuel quality and legislation at destination. Sending a Euro 6 truck to a market with high sulphur diesel causes expensive problems, so we flag this before you order rather than afterwards.
-
Climate and terrain package
Tropicalised cooling, additional air filtration, raised air intake, reinforced suspension and cab protection. Small choices with a large impact on uptime.

Buying a truck? Schaften Automotive arranges it from A to Z
Since 1977, Schaften Automotive has supplied trucks and buses to operators worldwide. What began as a family passion for heavy vehicles grew into a company that combines a large, strategically managed stock with genuine engineering knowledge. As an official Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses partner, we deliver Actros, Arocs, Atego, Econic, Zetros and Unimog, whether you need a bare chassis, a complete tipper or a fully equipped special.
What sets us apart is not only the fleet. It is that we think along with you. We ask about your route, your load and your local rules before we quote, because a truck that is wrong on paper turns out expensive in practice. Once the specification is right, we take over: body build, inspection, documentation, customs clearance and shipping. Big enough for your ambitions, small enough to tailor every solution.
